Young at Heart

St. Jude Parish is pleased to have Young at Heart, a group for anyone 55 or older. This group makes up nearly a fourth of our parish and we want to offer opportunities in our community to be active, make new friends, and share our lives. We host monthly gatherings for lunch/games/speakers/planning/etc. and offering a day trip to somewhere fun and interesting.

This group is for you, so please let us know your thoughts and ideas. We are extremely excited to grow our ministry offerings and hope that you will join us as often as you can.

August 2026 Group Trip to the Indiana War Memorial

Several members of the Young at Heart group visited the Indiana War Memorial and the traveling "Steel Across America" exhibit downtown on August 19th.

A visit to the War Memorial was quite an eye opener for many of our group who've lived in Indy a long time, yet had not visited the building or museum. They were awed by the patriotic display on the top floor of the building and toured the comprehensive and well-kept museum in the basement.

"Steel Across America" consists of an 8.5 ton, 21 feet long section of the South Tower of the World Trade Center carried on a semi-trailer. Indianapolis is one of many stops on the journey from New York, across the country and back to NYC for the 25th anniversary of 911 (2001). A memorial ceremony is conducted at each stop.

MONTHLY GATHERINGS

All meetings will usually take place the 2nd Friday of the month, except special evening meetings which will be announced. Everyone is welcome just bring a brown bag lunch. We will provide a time for fellowship, usually a guest speaker and time to plan future events. No registration required,
