Adult Education at St. Jude

Faith formation doesn’t end when we leave the classroom. Our Catholic education is not something we receive as children in Sunday school and then leave behind as adults. It is a lifelong process of learning, growing, asking questions, and deepening our relationship with Christ and His Church.

JudED is St. Jude’s adult education program, created to provide opportunities for adults of all ages to continue growing in their Catholic faith. Over the past two years, JudED has become an ongoing part of our parish community, offering opportunities to learn, ask questions, and grow in faith together.

Through trivia nights, monthly events, faith formation opportunities, and other gatherings, JudED brings our parish community together for both fellowship and continued learning. Some events are focused on a particular aspect of Catholic teaching, while others simply give us an opportunity to explore our faith, have good conversations, and enjoy being together as a parish community.

Whether you want to better understand what the Church teaches, discover why we do what we do, find thoughtful answers to questions about the faith, or simply continue growing in your relationship with God, JudED is for you.

Why "Deepen the Well?"

We all come to our Catholic faith with different experiences, questions, and levels of understanding. Deepen the Well is the idea at the heart of JudED: the deeper we grow in our knowledge and love of the faith, the more prepared we are to live it and share it with others.

Our faith is something we are continually called to grow into. As life changes, so do our questions and circumstances. What we understood as a child may look different as a young adult, a spouse, a parent, a grandparent, or simply as someone continuing to navigate life with Christ. There is always more to learn, discover, and encounter in the richness of our Catholic faith.

At the end of Mass, we are sent out to proclaim the Gospel. That can sometimes feel intimidating. We may wonder what we could possibly say when a friend asks a difficult question, when our children or grandchildren are curious about the faith, or when the culture around us challenges what we believe.

We are not expected to have every answer. But we are called to keep learning, growing, and allowing God to strengthen us for the mission He has given us.

Moses questioned whether he was the right person to speak for God, yet God equipped him for the mission He had given him. In the same way, JudED seeks to give us the knowledge, confidence, and community we need to live our faith more fully and share it more confidently.

The deeper the well, the more everyone can drink.

Through JudED, we hope to continue deepening the well together — growing in knowledge, strengthening our faith, building community, and raising our gaze toward the Good, the True, and the Beautiful: God Himself.
