What is Family Formation?

Family Formation is a faith-based program where children and parents grow together in their Catholic faith. While children meet in age-specific classes with trained catechists, parents gather separately for their own formation, encouragement, and support. The goal is to equip families to live their faith at home and in the world by supporting parents in their role as the primary catechists of their children.

How is this different from traditional religious education?

Family Formation places a strong focus on involving the entire family. Rather than dropping off children, parents participate too, creating a shared journey of faith.

What about sacrament preparation?

Second graders prepare for First Reconciliation and First Communion, and 8th graders prepare for Confirmation as part of the program, with special sessions just for them.

What if a parent can’t attend every time?

While regular attendance is encouraged, we understand life happens. Materials are provided for families to stay connected and continue lessons at home.

 Is there homework?

Sessions will include simple take-home activities to help reinforce the lessons and involve the whole family.

How often does the program meet?

Family Formation takes place once a month on Sunday mornings from 8:30am-9:50am. We will also be having once a month socials. Stay tuned for more info.
