Pre-Kindergarten Academic Goals
Welcome to the Pre-Kindergarten Classroom!
The academic goals for our Pre-K classroom throughout the school year:
- Count to 50
- Recite all colors and shapes
- 1 to 1 correspondence
- Write numbers 1-20
- Recognize capital and lower case letters
- Write most capital and lower case letters
- Raise their hand to talk
- Keep hands to themselves
- Sit and listen to a story
- Can recognize and write their first name
- Introduce them to writing their name in a capital and lower case letters
- Introduction to Title, Author, and Illustrator
- Can tell us their birthday
- Able to use scissors on their own
- Able to use glue on their own
- Able to follow directions
- Introduction of concepts like opposites
- Basic directional concepts like over/under and front/back
- Identify emotions and learn about self-awareness
- Learning self-help skills to promote independence
- Able to hold a conversation
- Verbalize wants and needs
- Be independent in the bathroom
- Get themselves dressed
- Rhyme
- Separate from their parents
